Lisbon

Day 1 - 3

The beautiful city of Lisbon lies draped across a string of seven hills on the western Iberian Peninsula and is the westernmost and oldest city in western Europe. Its long and tumultuous history has resulted in an aesthetic characterised by a haphazard combination of old and new; however, the aesthetic chaos of Lisbon only adds to its appeal and its undeniable charm. Bright yellow centenarian trams rattle their way up steep, tree-lined, cobbled streets; ornate ironwork balconies overrun with bougainvillaea sit above elegant outdoor cafes housed in ancient whitewashed, red-roofed stone houses; and a flurry of detailed mosaics decorate the sidewalks. Ancient statues adorn grand squares and hidden gardens. A diverse culinary scene, a plethora of fascinating museums, and numerous castles make it easy to see why Lisbon is one of Europe’s most misunderstood and underrated cities.

Loch Ness, Glencoe & the Highlands

Loch Ness, Glencoe & the Highlands

Experience one of the most popular day tours from Edinburgh with the Loch Ness and Glencoe tour, offering a full day to explore some of the Scottish Highlands' most stunning landscapes. This tour takes you to Glencoe and offers the opportunity to cruise across the legendary Loch Ness.

Starting from Edinburgh, the Loch Ness tour travels northwest, passing the imposing Stirling Castle, before making a first stop at Kilmahog in the Highlands. Here, you can enjoy some refreshments and, depending on the time of year, the chance to see a Highland Coo. The journey continues through Rob Roy country, home to the MacGregor and Campbell clans, and over the dramatic landscape of Rannoch Moor and the Black Mount to reach Glencoe, one of Scotland's most famous valleys. This atmospheric gorge is where the massacre of the Clan MacDonald took place in 1692, and you'll have a photo stop to soak in its haunting beauty.

The tour proceeds via Loch Linnhe to Loch Ness, stopping for lunch in the Fort William area. Then, travel into the natural beauty of the Great Glen, passing beneath Britain's highest mountain, Ben Nevis. You'll pass the charming village of Fort Augustus before reaching Urquhart Castle, where you have the option to join a boat trip and explore the castle.

For those not participating in the excursion, the tour continues to the Clansman Hotel, where you have an hour at leisure. Here, you can relax and enjoy a gin tasting from Great Glen Gins, complete with a 10% shopping voucher. Alternatively, explore the area via the Old Coffin Road starting from the hotel car park, or opt for a one-hour tour of the loch for stunning views of Urquhart Castle.

Loch Ness, stretching 24 miles long and over 700 feet deep, is famously known for sightings of the Loch Ness Monster, affectionately called "Nessie." Spend some time enjoying a picturesque lake cruise on Loch Ness.

The tour returns through the Cairngorms National Park and Perthshire woodland, including the Forest of Atholl, with an evening refreshment stop in the Victorian resort town of Pitlochry, before heading back to Edinburgh, where the Loch Ness Tour concludes.

Milan

Day 11 - 12

The vibrant metropolis of Milan is the capital of Italy’s Lombardy region in northern Italy. Always at the forefront of international fashion, Milan’s sleek, glamorous facade has earned it a reputation for superficiality and excessive consumerism. However, beneath the surface lies a treasure trove of historical and architectural wonders—from its magnificent Gothic churches, Baroque mansions, and Art Nouveau palazzos to the striking modern skyscrapers of the Porta Nuova financial district. Must-see landmarks include the spectacular Milan Cathedral (Duomo), the glass-vaulted Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II, and of course, La Scala—one of the world’s most renowned opera houses. Milan offers something for everyone: those in search of high-end designer shopping will be more than satisfied, as will visitors interested in fascinating historical sites and extraordinary architectural achievements.

  • Top travel company—we’d book again anytime. My travel consultant was very friendly: I shared what we had in mind, and she planned the trip for us. She was also able to make adjustments when something didn’t quite fit—everything went perfectly. Afterwards, customer service took care of us and was quick to help. The trip itself was a dream. It’s also worth mentioning that we had a local guide we could message with any questions. Excellent support, and the Tourlane app was perfect—everything we needed right at hand on our phone. Many thanks to everyone who supported us on this trip.
