The Lisbon by Night tour with fado is the right opening evening: the illuminated Miradouro de Santa Luzia, down through Alfama to a small fado house, first dinner in a tiled taverna. It establishes the city's register before any monument visit competes for the same attention. Madrid in two nights means one clear priority: Prado first morning and Retiro late afternoon together, Royal Palace as its own second morning. For Park Güell, time the visit for late afternoon on the final Barcelona day; the city panorama from the main terrace in that directional evening light, with the sea visible between the buildings, is the image the Catalan chapter should end on.

Day 1 - 2
The beautiful city of Lisbon lies draped across a string of seven hills on the western Iberian Peninsula and is the westernmost and oldest city in western Europe. Its long and tumultuous history has resulted in an aesthetic characterised by a haphazard combination of old and new; however, the aesthetic chaos of Lisbon only adds to its appeal and its undeniable charm. Bright yellow centenarian trams rattle their way up steep, tree-lined, cobbled streets; ornate ironwork balconies overrun with bougainvillaea sit above elegant outdoor cafes housed in ancient whitewashed, red-roofed stone houses; and a flurry of detailed mosaics decorate the sidewalks. Ancient statues adorn grand squares and hidden gardens. A diverse culinary scene, a plethora of fascinating museums, and numerous castles make it easy to see why Lisbon is one of Europe’s most misunderstood and underrated cities.

Fado Lisbon by Night – Dinner & Panoramic City Tour
Experience the magic of Lisbon after dark and discover the true soul of the city through music, lights, and unforgettable views. This evening tour combines a panoramic drive by van/bus past Lisbon’s most iconic monuments with a traditional dinner accompanied by a live Fado performance.
The experience begins with a scenic night tour through the city by van/bus, offering illuminated views of landmarks such as Belém Tower, Jerónimos Monastery, and the Monument to the Discoveries. You will also cross the impressive 25 de Abril Bridge and enjoy views over both banks of the Tagus River, including the Cristo Rei statue.
After the panoramic tour, enjoy dinner at a traditional Portuguese restaurant while listening to live Fado. This unique musical expression, recognized as UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage, captures deep emotion and nostalgia. Fado is not just music—it is a feeling that must be experienced in silence and truly felt.

Day 3 - 4
Spain’s enormous central capital, Madrid, lies on the River Manzanares and is a city of contrasts. Historical monuments like the impressive Royal Palace stand in stark contrast to state-of-the-art skyscrapers; masterpieces by Picasso, Dali and Velazquez adorn the walls of the city’s world-class galleries alongside contemporary modern works; local chefs display a passion for Spanish food at traditional eateries while chic fusion restaurants operate next door. Madrid’s real attraction lies in the seductive lifestyle of its hedonistic inhabitants; indulging in tapas, hunting for treasures at the El Rastro flea market or partying the night away in one of the many lively nightclubs. Make sure to soak up the vibrant street life of the grand, historic Plaza Mayor, Madrid's central square, and spend a leisurely afternoon on the landscaped lawns at the Parque del Buen Retiro.

Flamenco, a lively mixture of dance, song and guitar, is the heart and soul of Spain. It has developed alongside the contrasting historical influences of Arab, Jewish and gypsy cultures. Ava Gardner or Hemingway, they all loved flamenco. In this show you will enjoy the best pure flamenco in a mythical place in Madrid. Experience how heart, soul and the artists' total dedication to their craft is what it's all about.
Day 5 - 7
Set on Spain’s gorgeous southeastern coast, the capital and largest city of the Catalonia region, Barcelona, is an exquisite, seaside metropolis. With its dizzying array of architecture and its world-class galleries and museums, artistic delights abound at every corner (most strikingly in the astonishingly whimsical structures designed by the prolific modernist architect Antoni Gaudi). Explore the winding alleys of the picturesque Gothic Quarter, take in the boisterous carnival atmosphere of the world famous, tree-lined La Rambla boulevard, or go on a gastronomical adventure through the city's restaurants. Head to one of the gorgeous white sandy beaches and when the sun sets, join the eclectic all-night party scene. Don’t miss the opportunity to see the phenomenal Sagrada Familia, take in an opera at the sublime Palau de la Musica Catalana, and watch a game at the famous Camp Nou stadium.

Join an English-speaking guided tour to discover two of Antoni Gaudí’s most iconic works: the Sagrada Familia and Park Güell.
Begin at Park Güell, located in a unique area with stunning views over the city. Declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1984, the park was originally conceived as a residential project before becoming a public space. Explore the monumental area with your guide and admire Gaudí’s mastery. See how he blended architecture and nature through his organic, naturalistic style.
At the appointed time, a transfer will take you to the Sagrada Familia. Enter this breathtaking monument and discover why it’s the ultimate must-see landmark in Barcelona. Learn about its history and symbolism with your local guide, and marvel at the interior—richly inspired by natural forms and spiritual meaning.

Two nights in each city is a pace that asks you to be selective, and that discipline is precisely what makes this trip work. Lisbon, Madrid, and Barcelona are each distinctive enough that two focused nights deliver more than a single night in five cities ever would — and the journey between them, from the Atlantic coast of Portugal to the Mediterranean edge of Catalonia, covers the full breadth of the Iberian Peninsula in one coherent arc.
The high-speed train from Madrid to Barcelona is the right way to make that final transition. The journey takes around two and a half hours and deposits you in the center of the city without an airport. What I always tell people: book the seat on the right side heading northeast — the views across the Catalan countryside in the final hour are worth it.
Hotel: Portugal Boutique City Hotel
Two nights in Lisbon with the Lisbon by Night tour and fado show on the first evening is a strong opening. The fado venues in the Alfama are best experienced after you've walked the neighborhood during the day — the music lands differently when you know the streets it comes from. The Portugal Boutique City Hotel is a well-placed central address that keeps both days easy on foot.
Hotel: Hotel Villa Real
The Hotel Villa Real is on the Plaza de las Cortes, steps from the Prado and the Teatro Español. Two nights is enough for the Royal Palace, the Prado, Retiro Park, and an evening flamenco show — a full schedule, but a manageable one when the hotel keeps you central to all of it.
Hotel: Claris Hotel & Spa
The Claris Hotel & Spa is in the Eixample, on Pau Claris, which puts Passeig de Gràcia, the Sagrada Familia, and the Gothic Quarter all within easy reach. The skip-the-line Park Güell tour is the right call — timed entry is strict, and the park fills fast. Two nights here also gives you an evening free after the Gaudí landmarks to walk down to the Born neighborhood, which has some of the best bars and restaurants in the city.
The best time to travel for a multi-city trip to Lisbon, Madrid, and Barcelona is during the shoulder seasons of spring (April–May) and fall (September–October). These months offer warm and dry weather, perfect for city sightseeing, while avoiding the extreme heat and crowds of the summer.
A 7-day multi-city trip can be tailored to various budgets. On a mid-range budget, you can expect to spend around $200 per day in Spain. This includes a stay in a 4-star hotel and dining at good restaurants. For a luxury experience, you can budget at least $425 per person per day.
This trip is a city break that blends the highlights of two countries. You can experience the historic charm of Lisbon's streetcars, the grandeur of Madrid's Royal Palace, and the architectural wonders of Barcelona's Sagrada Familia. For activities, you can take a culinary walk in Lisbon, a tapas tour in Madrid, or a paella cooking class in Barcelona.

Outstanding travel company—would book again anytime

Very friendly and knowledgeable advisor
Top travel company—we’d book again anytime. My travel consultant was very friendly: I shared what we had in mind, and she planned the trip for us. She was also able to make adjustments when something didn’t quite fit—everything went perfectly. Afterwards, customer service took care of us and was quick to help. The trip itself was a dream. It’s also worth mentioning that we had a local guide we could message with any questions. Excellent support, and the Tourlane app was perfect—everything we needed right at hand on our phone. Many thanks to everyone who supported us on this trip.
She listened carefully to all my wishes and ideas, gave me excellent advice, and made everything happen. All my questions were answered, and I feel very well taken care of. Thank you so much!
