The Chianti and Siena day is the excursion that grounds the Renaissance chapter in its actual landscape, and it's the one I'd always protect. The Chiantigiana road south through Greve and Radda, with vine terraces and medieval towers rising from the hills, connects the art you've been standing in front of to the countryside that funded it. In Barcelona, the private tapas tour on the first evening rather than after the Sagrada Família visit gives you the neighborhood geography before the architectural days rather than after; you arrive at Gaudí with a city map already in your head. The Lisbon historical walking tour works best when you end at a miradouro: the Portas do Sol or the Santa Luzia terrace in the late afternoon light, looking down over the terracotta roofline toward the Tagus, is the image that carries the city beyond any single monument.

Day 1 - 2
The beautiful city of Lisbon lies draped across a string of seven hills on the western Iberian Peninsula and is the westernmost and oldest city in western Europe. Its long and tumultuous history has resulted in an aesthetic characterised by a haphazard combination of old and new; however, the aesthetic chaos of Lisbon only adds to its appeal and its undeniable charm. Bright yellow centenarian trams rattle their way up steep, tree-lined, cobbled streets; ornate ironwork balconies overrun with bougainvillaea sit above elegant outdoor cafes housed in ancient whitewashed, red-roofed stone houses; and a flurry of detailed mosaics decorate the sidewalks. Ancient statues adorn grand squares and hidden gardens. A diverse culinary scene, a plethora of fascinating museums, and numerous castles make it easy to see why Lisbon is one of Europe’s most misunderstood and underrated cities.

Fado Lisbon by Night – Dinner & Panoramic City Tour
Experience the magic of Lisbon after dark and discover the true soul of the city through music, lights, and unforgettable views. This evening tour combines a panoramic drive by van/bus past Lisbon’s most iconic monuments with a traditional dinner accompanied by a live Fado performance.
The experience begins with a scenic night tour through the city by van/bus, offering illuminated views of landmarks such as Belém Tower, Jerónimos Monastery, and the Monument to the Discoveries. You will also cross the impressive 25 de Abril Bridge and enjoy views over both banks of the Tagus River, including the Cristo Rei statue.
After the panoramic tour, enjoy dinner at a traditional Portuguese restaurant while listening to live Fado. This unique musical expression, recognized as UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage, captures deep emotion and nostalgia. Fado is not just music—it is a feeling that must be experienced in silence and truly felt.

Day 3 - 4
Set on Spain’s gorgeous southeastern coast, the capital and largest city of the Catalonia region, Barcelona, is an exquisite, seaside metropolis. With its dizzying array of architecture and its world-class galleries and museums, artistic delights abound at every corner (most strikingly in the astonishingly whimsical structures designed by the prolific modernist architect Antoni Gaudi). Explore the winding alleys of the picturesque Gothic Quarter, take in the boisterous carnival atmosphere of the world famous, tree-lined La Rambla boulevard, or go on a gastronomical adventure through the city's restaurants. Head to one of the gorgeous white sandy beaches and when the sun sets, join the eclectic all-night party scene. Don’t miss the opportunity to see the phenomenal Sagrada Familia, take in an opera at the sublime Palau de la Musica Catalana, and watch a game at the famous Camp Nou stadium.

Join an English-speaking guided tour to discover two of Antoni Gaudí’s most iconic works: the Sagrada Familia and Park Güell.
Begin at Park Güell, located in a unique area with stunning views over the city. Declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1984, the park was originally conceived as a residential project before becoming a public space. Explore the monumental area with your guide and admire Gaudí’s mastery. See how he blended architecture and nature through his organic, naturalistic style.
At the appointed time, a transfer will take you to the Sagrada Familia. Enter this breathtaking monument and discover why it’s the ultimate must-see landmark in Barcelona. Learn about its history and symbolism with your local guide, and marvel at the interior—richly inspired by natural forms and spiritual meaning.
Day 5 - 7
Florence, the beautiful capital of the Italian region Tuscany, lies in the center of the country. A small city with a big heart, and an even bigger offering of artistic and historical treasures. For centuries, travelers have journeyed to the birthplace of the Renaissance era to marvel at the many masterpieces of architecture and art: Michelangelo's iconic David, the impressive works of Botticelli, the Uffizi Gallery (packed with works by Caravaggio and Da Vinci), and of course, Brunelleschi's remarkable dome — the religious centerpiece of Florence that dominates the skyline. All are absolute must-sees on any itinerary. Once you've ticked off these renowned attractions, you can take a stroll through the vast Boboli Gardens or climb the hill to the church of San Miniato al Monte for a breathtaking view of this beautiful, enchanting city.

Your memorable journey starts with the charming San Gimignano, world famous walled town located on a hilltop, which remained intact through the centuries, renowned for its tall towers, wonderful frescoes and many other valuable works of art: here the tour leader will lead you to the historical center, where you will have around 2 hours of free time for a fascinating discovery. A short distance from San Gimignano, crossing the gently Chianti rolling hills, a short ride will take you to a cozy Winery, where you can relax and enjoy the fantastic world of Chianti with its wine and typical products: tasting of three fine wines and balsamic vinegar followed by a Chianti style lunch: 3 course with “zero food miles” products which ends with "cantucci e vin santo". Later on, getting to Siena, you will have 3 hours of free time to end your perfect day enjoying the unique atmosphere of this amazing city, before the return to Florence in the evening.
Meeting point at 7:45 am Piazzale Montelungo at the end of the ramp connecting with the railway station.

Lisbon, Barcelona, and Florence across seven days — three cities that sit at the apex of southern European culture and are distinct enough from each other that even two nights in each leaves a clear impression. Lisbon's fado-tinged Atlantic character, Barcelona's Mediterranean inventiveness, and Florence's Renaissance precision follow a natural geographic and cultural arc eastward.
My go-to recommendation for the Siena, San Gimignano, and Chianti excursion from Florence: leave early and approach San Gimignano from the south on the road from Colle di Val d'Elsa. The medieval towers rising on the ridge well before you arrive is one of those Italian arrival moments that earns the whole excursion. Most drivers come in from the north and miss it entirely.
Hotel: Portugal Boutique City Hotel
Two nights with the Lisbon by Night fado experience on the first evening and the historical walking tour and Alfama viewpoints filling the second day. The fado venues in the Alfama are best booked before you travel — the good ones fill up on weekends, and the intimate setting makes a significant difference to how the music lands.
Hotel: Hotel Catalonia Eixample 1864
The Sagrada Familia and Park Güell on the first full day, the private tapas tour on the first evening. The tapas tour is best placed before the architectural visits rather than after — it introduces the city's food culture at a point when everything is still new. The Gothic Quarter rewards an afternoon on the second day without a fixed agenda.
Hotel: Tivoli Palazzo Gaddi Florence Hotel
The Siena, San Gimignano, and Chianti excursion on one full day and the historic center on the other. The Tivoli Palazzo Gaddi sits close to the Arno, and the Oltrarno neighborhood outside the front door rewards any unplanned evening. What I always tell people about Florence's markets: the Sant'Ambrogio market, east of the cathedral, is the local version — far less visited than San Lorenzo and more rewarding for it.
The best time to visit these countries is generally in the shoulder seasons of spring and fall. Portugal and Spain have warm, sunny weather from April to October. Italy also has long, sunny days from April to September. Traveling during spring and fall provides pleasant weather and fewer crowds than the peak summer season.

The cost of your trip will vary based on your budget and travel style. A mid-range, week-long trip to Portugal costs around $1,000 (excluding flights), Spain is about $1,050, and Italy is about $1,700. These prices cover comfortable accommodation, meals, and popular activities.

In Lisbon, you can take a vintage streetcar tour. Barcelona offers a visit to the magnificent Sagrada Familia, while Florence has the famous Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore.

Outstanding travel company—would book again anytime

Very friendly and knowledgeable advisor
Top travel company—we’d book again anytime. My travel consultant was very friendly: I shared what we had in mind, and she planned the trip for us. She was also able to make adjustments when something didn’t quite fit—everything went perfectly. Afterwards, customer service took care of us and was quick to help. The trip itself was a dream. It’s also worth mentioning that we had a local guide we could message with any questions. Excellent support, and the Tourlane app was perfect—everything we needed right at hand on our phone. Many thanks to everyone who supported us on this trip.
She listened carefully to all my wishes and ideas, gave me excellent advice, and made everything happen. All my questions were answered, and I feel very well taken care of. Thank you so much!
