The Lisbon historical walking tour earns more when you start in Alfama before the fado evening rather than treating them as separate events. Arriving at the Portas do Sol viewpoint in the late afternoon and working down through the Mouraria places the fado performance that evening in its proper neighborhood context; the two experiences reinforce each other rather than competing for the same attention. The private tapas tour in Barcelona is where the city stay earns its value; the Born and the Raval with a guide who knows the market bars and tiled taverns delivers a version of the city the Sagrada Família and Park Güell circuit alone can't provide. For Athens with two nights, the Acropolis Museum before the hill: the frieze narrative and the caryatids at ground level give you the vocabulary to read the site above in a way that going up cold never does.

Day 1 - 2
The beautiful city of Lisbon lies draped across a string of seven hills on the western Iberian Peninsula and is the westernmost and oldest city in western Europe. Its long and tumultuous history has resulted in an aesthetic characterised by a haphazard combination of old and new; however, the aesthetic chaos of Lisbon only adds to its appeal and its undeniable charm. Bright yellow centenarian trams rattle their way up steep, tree-lined, cobbled streets; ornate ironwork balconies overrun with bougainvillaea sit above elegant outdoor cafes housed in ancient whitewashed, red-roofed stone houses; and a flurry of detailed mosaics decorate the sidewalks. Ancient statues adorn grand squares and hidden gardens. A diverse culinary scene, a plethora of fascinating museums, and numerous castles make it easy to see why Lisbon is one of Europe’s most misunderstood and underrated cities.

Fado In Chiado offers an atmospheric 50-minute fado show in the heart of Lisbon. A female and a male voice perform stirring fado pieces, accompanied by traditional Portuguese and acoustic guitar. The performance impressively conveys the melancholic soul of Portugal in an authentic atmosphere. A cultural experience that music lovers should not miss.
Day 3 - 4
Set on Spain’s gorgeous southeastern coast, the capital and largest city of the Catalonia region, Barcelona, is an exquisite, seaside metropolis. With its dizzying array of architecture and its world-class galleries and museums, artistic delights abound at every corner (most strikingly in the astonishingly whimsical structures designed by the prolific modernist architect Antoni Gaudi). Explore the winding alleys of the picturesque Gothic Quarter, take in the boisterous carnival atmosphere of the world famous, tree-lined La Rambla boulevard, or go on a gastronomical adventure through the city's restaurants. Head to one of the gorgeous white sandy beaches and when the sun sets, join the eclectic all-night party scene. Don’t miss the opportunity to see the phenomenal Sagrada Familia, take in an opera at the sublime Palau de la Musica Catalana, and watch a game at the famous Camp Nou stadium.

Meet your local guide to enjoy the most inescapable element of Spanish cuisine: Tapas tour, popular all over the world. In all Spain's cities you will find bars, taverns & markets specialized in tapas. Spend few hours escorted by an expert guide who will point out little-known cultural and gastronomic landmarks, while listening to stories and legends of this tapas culture during the tour.
Day 5 - 7
Dominating the Attica region of Greece, the country’s capital, Athens, is one of the oldest cities in the world. For over two and a half centuries, the astonishing Greek temples and monuments of Athens have continued to intrigue and amaze visitors from around the world. This icon of western civilization seamlessly combines ancient history with modern architecture and a surprisingly lively atmosphere. This is particularly apparent in areas at the foot of the Acropolis, Anafiotika, Plaka, Monastiraki, and Thissio where visitors will find numerous extraordinary Neoclassical buildings, trendy and traditional cafes, and shops, and narrow winding streets with historical treasures at every turn. Once you have enjoyed a history and art fix, try some mouth-watering Greek cuisine at one of the city’s fine local restaurants before indulging in the insatiable nightlife at the chic cocktail bars and waterfront dance clubs.

The tour begins in front of the Parliament in Syntagma Square where you will see the Monument of the Unknown Soldier and the change of the famous Guards. A pleasant walk will follow through the National Gardenand on to the Zappeion Hall, the Temple of Olympian Zeus and Hadrian's Arch. From here you will enter the Plaka area heading to the Acropolis and visit with your guide the Propylaea, the Temple of Nike, and the Parthenon, the monuments that remind us of the Glory of Ancient Athens and the Golden Age of Pericles. See also in the surrounding the Athenian Agora, the Observatory, the Hill of Democracy (Pnyx), Mars and Philoppapos Hill, the Odeon of Herodes Atticus, and the Theater of Dionysus. At the end of the tour, and since you are so close, do not miss the opportunity to visit on your own the New Acropolis Museum.

Lisbon, Barcelona, and Athens across seven days — the trip moves east from the Atlantic edge of Portugal to the Aegean, and the cultural register shifts perceptibly at each stop. Lisbon's fado-tinged melancholy and tiled facades, Barcelona's Mediterranean invention, Athens' ancient foundations: each city is so distinct that even two nights in each leaves a clear impression.
A detail worth knowing for Athens: the Fresh Hotel's rooftop pool has a direct line of sight to the Acropolis, and the view at sunset — the Parthenon lit against the sky above the city — is the right introduction before the guided visit the following morning.
Hotel: Portugal Boutique City Hotel
Two nights with the fado evening in the Chiado and the walking tour through Alfama and Belém. Book the fado venue before you travel — the good ones fill up, particularly on weekends. The Alfama is best experienced on foot in the late afternoon, when the light catches the tiled facades and the streets are quiet before the evening crowds arrive.
Hotel: Hotel 1898
Hotel 1898 sits on La Rambla, which puts the Gothic Quarter, the Boqueria market, and the waterfront all within easy reach. The Sagrada Familia and Park Güell together on the first full day is the right call; both are more rewarding in the earlier morning before the volume builds. The private tapas tour on the first evening orients you to the city's food culture before you've formed any habits.
Hotel: Fresh Hotel
Two nights with the guided city tour and Acropolis visit on the first day, and the Plaka, Monastiraki, and surrounding neighborhoods on the second. The Monastiraki flea market on a Sunday morning — if timing allows — is one of the more characterful parts of the city and rewards an unhurried couple of hours.
The best time to visit these cities is generally in the shoulder seasons of spring and fall for pleasant weather and fewer crowds. Portugal and Spain have warm, sunny weather from April to October. Greece is also ideal during this period.

Outstanding travel company—would book again anytime

Very friendly and knowledgeable advisor
Top travel company—we’d book again anytime. My travel consultant was very friendly: I shared what we had in mind, and she planned the trip for us. She was also able to make adjustments when something didn’t quite fit—everything went perfectly. Afterwards, customer service took care of us and was quick to help. The trip itself was a dream. It’s also worth mentioning that we had a local guide we could message with any questions. Excellent support, and the Tourlane app was perfect—everything we needed right at hand on our phone. Many thanks to everyone who supported us on this trip.
She listened carefully to all my wishes and ideas, gave me excellent advice, and made everything happen. All my questions were answered, and I feel very well taken care of. Thank you so much!
