The Stonehenge and Bath day is best placed in the middle of the stay, when a change of pace genuinely refreshes the London days on either side. Bath's Roman Baths and Georgian streets are a natural counterpoint to the capital's energy, and the contrast makes both places read more clearly. What I always tell people about the London Eye: use the fast-track entry and go at dusk — the city at that hour is worth every bit of the view. Evenings are left open throughout, which is the right call: London's dining and theater scene is broad enough that a standing recommendation is less useful than a free evening and a good restaurant reservation made before you leave home.
