Mont Saint-Michel is best when you arrive at low tide and walk the causeway before the coach groups from Paris reach the island; ascending the abbey stairs in the first hour with the bay still exposed around you is a completely different experience from the midday version, and it's why I always recommend staying locally the prior night. The Cancale oyster farm works best at late morning: sitting on the rocks above the beds with freshly opened plates and the bay visible across the water is the sequence that makes it feel genuinely local rather than arranged. For the Bayeux WWII sites, engage a guide for Omaha Beach and the American Cemetery; the tactical geography of the landings and the casualty scale require explanation to fully register, and the difference between a guided visit and a self-guided walk is more significant here than almost anywhere else on this itinerary.

Day 4 - 5
Bisected by the River Aure in Normandy, the medieval town of Bayeux is perhaps best known for the eponymous Bayeux Tapestry, an ambitious work of art that depicts the invasion of England by William the Conquerer in 1066. Also of interest is the remarkable Bayeux Cathedral, a striking Norman Romanesque and Gothic marvel that towers over the entire town and is crowned by a magnificent copper-clad tower full of exquisite details. On the famous Channel coast, about 10 kilometres from town, are sites of D-Day and the Battle of Normandy. Historic, half-timbered houses line the charming cobbled streets, many of which have been converted into fine restaurants and boutiques. Some lovely beaches, a lively fishing port and an array of grand châteaux and abbeys are located in the surrounding countryside.

Join us on an engaging sightseeing tour of Bayeux, where history comes alive through informative narratives and charming anecdotes shared by long-time residents. Our mission is to help you appreciate Bayeux as a quintessentially Norman town with its own unique charm and hidden gems.
Your schedule is our schedule! We strive to offer a fabulous experience as we navigate the picturesque streets of Bayeux, seamlessly fitting this tour into your well-planned holiday. Our tours are flexible and accommodating, ensuring you make the most of your stay in Bayeux.

Delight in a visit to the Museum of Art and History Baron Gérard (MAHB), a distinguished Musée de France and one of the most esteemed art and history museums in Normandy. The museum boasts a rich collection, including 600 works of art with 250 paintings and prints by renowned artists such as Philippe de Champaigne, François Boucher, Gustave Caillebotte, Eugène Boudin, and Kees Van Dongen. Additionally, explore 1,000 items of Bayeux porcelain and lace, along with 800 archaeological and ethnographic artifacts. Housed in the historic episcopal palace, itself a protected Historic Monument, the museum is one of the finest examples of urban residences in the region.
Let us guide you through Bayeux, bringing its rich heritage and cultural treasures to life in a way that is both meaningful and memorable.
Day 6 - 8
Located in Brittany, northwest France, the postcard-perfect port city of Saint-Malo boasts phenomenal heritage architecture, beautiful beaches and an alluring, idyllic harbour. Significant landmarks include the exquisite Gothic and Romanesque cathedral; the enormous ramparts that surround the old part of the city, dating back to the second century and each having a unique story to tell; and the historic Intra-Muros district, a world of its own with its cobbled streets lined with lavish 17th and 18th century homes, and lovely creperies and boutiques. Beach lovers and nature enthusiasts have plenty to explore: the alluring Plage du Sillon and Plage de Bon Secours beaches and tidal pools; the rocky Ile du Grand Be Island, which can be reached on the sand at low tide; and the enthralling GR 34 Coastal Path, decorated by wildflowers, beaches and granite cliffs.

Explore the enchanting coastal town of Cancale, a place celebrated for its maritime heritage, scenic beauty, and world-class oysters. Overlooking the shimmering waters of the Bay of Mont Saint-Michel, Cancale offers a perfect blend of natural charm and authentic Breton culture.
Begin your visit with a leisurely stroll along the picturesque harbor, where colorful fishing boats gently sway with the tide and rows of oyster beds stretch elegantly toward the horizon. As you walk, your guide will share insights into the town’s centuries-old oyster-farming traditions and its deep connection to the sea.
Continue your experience with an exclusive visit to a local oyster farm. Learn firsthand about the entire cultivation process — from nurturing the young oysters in mesh bags to the meticulous work of harvesting and sorting. Discover how the unique ecosystem of the bay shapes the distinctive taste and quality of Cancale’s oysters.
Your tour concludes with a fresh oyster tasting right by the water, allowing you to savor the briny, mineral-rich flavors that have earned Cancale its reputation as the oyster capital of France. Whether you’re a seasoned oyster lover or trying them for the first time, this experience offers an authentic and memorable taste of Brittany’s culinary heritage.

Two nights in Paris and then northwest into Normandy — the contrast between the capital's elegance and the coast's raw, weathered character is part of what makes this route work. By the time you reach Saint-Malo's fortified walls with the Atlantic tide below them, Paris already feels like a different country.
One tip I always pass along about Mont Saint-Michel: arrive early on a clear morning before the main coaches pull in. The causeway at low tide, the abbey rising from the bay, and the silence of the surrounding mudflats at that hour are something the midday version simply cannot replicate.
Hotel: Hotel Observatoire Luxembourg
The Eiffel Tower VIP entry, the Louvre "Must Sees" tour, and the Seine dinner cruise cover three genuinely different registers of the city across two days. The Hotel Observatoire Luxembourg sits in the Latin Quarter, close to the Luxembourg Gardens and the Left Bank — a strong base for the neighborhoods between organized visits.
Hotel: ibis Styles Honfleur Centre Historique
Honfleur's harbor is best seen in the evening after the day visitors have gone. The timber-fronted quayside, the boats at their moorings, and the salt smell off the estuary give the town its real character at that hour. One night is the right allocation; enough time to walk the port, eat well, and leave before the morning crowds.
Hotel: Le Lion d'Or
The Bayeux guided tour earns more time than most visitors give it: the medieval streets and the Tapestry itself deserve a proper unhurried morning. The Rouen excursion adds another chapter: the Gothic cathedral, the timber-framed old town, and the Joan of Arc sites together make a full day. The WWII sites in the surrounding countryside fill the remaining time with genuine historical depth.
Hotel: Hotel Escale Oceania Saint-Malo
Saint-Malo's fortified walls are walkable in their entirety; the full circuit takes about an hour and gives you the sea on all sides. The Mont Saint-Michel excursion earns its own full day. The Cancale oyster farm experience is a fifteen-minute drive east along the coast and worth every minute: native Cancale oysters, cold from the bay, eaten on the seafront with a glass of Muscadet, are one of those straightforward pleasures that travel should provide more often.

Italy trip
We are once again very satisfied with Tourlane and the collaboration with Ms. Calabrese. She provided me with detailed information and prepared and organized the Italy trip excellently. Happy to book again 😊
It was a very nice trip and overall we are very satisfied. The Tourlane navigation could be a bit more precise. All the hotels were very good 👍 It was a wonderful time that we would happily repeat again and again.
We were interested in a round trip through Italy and shortly after our inquiry we already received an appointment for a consultation. The conversation with our Italy expert, Lara Schmidt, was simply great. She not only took all our wishes into account, but also rightly advised against one or two locations because of the weather/season. Shortly afterwards we received our offer (route, hotels, rental car), and what can we say — we got a perfectly arranged trip that really included and even exceeded all our wishes. That’s why we confirmed the trip with Lara directly in the next call and are super excited. @Lara: A BIG THANK YOU for the great exchange — you do this with so much heart and en...
Lara has organized my IT Trip for summer with my family. She had some many great ideas and provided so much information about the different regions. I´m really looking forward! Thank you Lara :-)
