A detail a lot of travelers miss about Versailles: the Trianon palaces and the Queen's Hamlet in the far corner of the estate are consistently less visited than the main palace, and they reveal a more intimate and more personal side of the royal court than the Hall of Mirrors ever does. The skip-the-line access to the main palace is essential. Without it, the entry queues on a busy day can consume most of a morning.
