Don’t miss the beautiful ‘Blue Caves’, cut into the cliffs at Cape Skinari. Spend a leisurely afternoon taking in a public concert at the enormous historic Solomos Square, or meander along the charming waterfront.

Dominating the Attica region of Greece, the country’s capital, Athens, is one of the oldest cities in the world. For over two and a half centuries, the astonishing Greek temples and monuments of Athens have continued to intrigue and amaze visitors from around the world. This icon of western civilization seamlessly combines ancient history with modern architecture and a surprisingly lively atmosphere. This is particularly apparent in areas at the foot of the Acropolis, Anafiotika, Plaka, Monastiraki, and Thissio where visitors will find numerous extraordinary Neoclassical buildings, trendy and traditional cafes, and shops, and narrow winding streets with historical treasures at every turn. Once you have enjoyed a history and art fix, try some mouth-watering Greek cuisine at one of the city’s fine local restaurants before indulging in the insatiable nightlife at the chic cocktail bars and waterfront dance clubs.

We leave from Athens joining the coastal road until the first stop inthe Corinth Canal, a unique technical achievement of the 19thcentury, connecting the Ionian with the Aegean Sea (short stop). Then we drive to Mycenae, the citadel of one of the oldest prehistorical civilizations famous all around the world for the story of the Trojan War. This is the place from where the Greeks had set off for the expedition in Troy in order to get back beautiful Helene and where thegolden mask of Agamemnon was found. We will see the famous Lion’s Gate, the monumental entrance, the Cyclopean Walls and the Treasury of Atreus, a monumental structurefor the burial of the King. Before we depart for Nafplio, we will have a lunch break at Mycenae. The next destination is Nafplio, Napoli di Romania, one of the most beautiful cities in Greece. We will stroll around the alleys of the first capital of Greece, we will admire the local architecture, the great venetian castle of Palamidi and the stronghold of Bourtzi and thecathedral of Saint George. After a short walking tour, you will have free time on your own to enjoy the city. In the afternoon, we return to Athens full of colorful images and unique smells.
