The Highland excursion through Glencoe and Loch Ness is the geographic counterweight to everything else on this itinerary, and it's why I'd always keep it. The scale of the glen and the emptiness above the valley floor create a contrast with Lisbon's tiled hills and Venice's canal density that no city experience in the circuit can replicate. The Ria Formosa boat tour from Faro is a better afternoon than any beach on the southern coast; the tidal lagoon system and the barrier islands are a protected natural landscape that most visitors on the Algarve hotel circuit never see. For Lake Como from Milan, arrive in Bellagio by ferry from Varenna rather than by road from Como: the lakefront approach shows the villa gardens stepping directly to the water in a way the road version simply doesn't deliver.

Day 1 - 3
The beautiful city of Lisbon lies draped across a string of seven hills on the western Iberian Peninsula and is the westernmost and oldest city in western Europe. Its long and tumultuous history has resulted in an aesthetic characterised by a haphazard combination of old and new; however, the aesthetic chaos of Lisbon only adds to its appeal and its undeniable charm. Bright yellow centenarian trams rattle their way up steep, tree-lined, cobbled streets; ornate ironwork balconies overrun with bougainvillaea sit above elegant outdoor cafes housed in ancient whitewashed, red-roofed stone houses; and a flurry of detailed mosaics decorate the sidewalks. Ancient statues adorn grand squares and hidden gardens. A diverse culinary scene, a plethora of fascinating museums, and numerous castles make it easy to see why Lisbon is one of Europe’s most misunderstood and underrated cities.

Discover the charming town of Sintra, where the royal family once had their summer residence, with an experienced guide. Enjoy typical local pastries and immerse yourself in the historic atmosphere of this unique region.
The tour continues to the spectacular Cabo da Roca viewpoint, the westernmost point of Europe, and the impressive Boca do Inferno rock cliff. Afterward, explore the sophisticated town of Cascais and the elegant gardens surrounding the famous Estoril Casino.
An unforgettable trip along Portugal's most beautiful coastal towns – rich in nature, culture, and history.
Highlights
Day 4 - 5
The Algarve’s southernmost city, Faro, has an elegant marina backed by a historical quarter dotted with white-washed Portuguese buildings, stately Catholic churches and age-old Moorish architecture. Its atmospheric squares and boulevards are paved with white and grey stone and lined with boutiques, designer stores, cafes and bars. There is no shortage of entertainment in this university town - it has a lively nightlife and a thriving arts and culture scene that caters to a wide array of audiences. There is plenty of opportunity for swimming and sunbathing on the area’s golden coast, and nature lovers will be in their element in the nearby Ria Formosa Reserve, with its incredibly biodiverse lagoon and coastal zone.

Day 6 - 8
Discover the legendary capital of the United Kingdom, a vibrant metropolis where history and diversity flourish. As you explore, you'll encounter iconic landmarks such as Big Ben, the historic Tower of London, and the breathtaking London Eye. Immerse yourself in world-class culture at the British Museum and the Tate Modern, offering endless artistic and historical treasures. The renowned West End theater scene promises unforgettable evenings, while the tranquil expanses of Hyde Park provide a welcome escape from the city's energy. Prepare your palate for a culinary journey; London's rich, multicultural atmosphere is vividly reflected in its diverse food scene, from traditional pubs offering hearty fare to esteemed gourmet restaurants awaiting your discovery. Come and experience the captivating allure of London.

The London Eye
Ride Europe's highest observation wheel and enjoy breathtaking 360-degree views of London. See Big Ben, St. Paul's Cathedral, Tower Bridge, the Houses of Parliament and a patchwork panorama of London that stretches up to 40 kilometers (or as far as Windsor Castle) on a clear day.
The 32 capsules - numbered for London's 32 boroughs - can hold a total of 800 people and travel at a leisurely 26cm per second. The London Eye was originally built as a temporary attraction at the turn of the millennium, but now as a permanent structure it attracts more visitors than the Taj Mahal and the Pyramids of Giza.
Day 9 - 10
Discover Edinburgh, the captivating capital of Scotland, nestled amidst a series of dramatic volcanic hills and crowned by its iconic castle. For those with an eye for design, Edinburgh is an architectural treasure, boasting impressive neoclassical terraces, grand Georgian structures, and significant late-medieval monuments. Explore the famous Royal Mile, a hub of attractions including the serene Dunbar’s Close Garden and the intriguing Camera Obscura with its fascinating optical illusions. Whisky enthusiasts should not miss the Scotch Whisky Experience. Beyond its landmarks, Edinburgh offers a vibrant cultural scene with excellent theaters, engaging museums, traditional pubs, diverse restaurants, and a lively nightlife. For panoramic city views, head to Calton Hill and admire the stunning skyline dotted with spires, towers, domes, and steeples. Experience the unique blend of history and contemporary life that defines Edinburgh.

Experience one of the most popular day tours from Edinburgh with the Loch Ness and Glencoe tour, offering a full day to explore some of the Scottish Highlands' most stunning landscapes. This tour takes you to Glencoe and offers the opportunity to cruise across the legendary Loch Ness.
Starting from Edinburgh, the Loch Ness tour travels northwest, passing the imposing Stirling Castle, before making a first stop at Kilmahog in the Highlands. Here, you can enjoy some refreshments and, depending on the time of year, the chance to see a Highland Coo. The journey continues through Rob Roy country, home to the MacGregor and Campbell clans, and over the dramatic landscape of Rannoch Moor and the Black Mount to reach Glencoe, one of Scotland's most famous valleys. This atmospheric gorge is where the massacre of the Clan MacDonald took place in 1692, and you'll have a photo stop to soak in its haunting beauty.
The tour proceeds via Loch Linnhe to Loch Ness, stopping for lunch in the Fort William area. Then, travel into the natural beauty of the Great Glen, passing beneath Britain's highest mountain, Ben Nevis. You'll pass the charming village of Fort Augustus before reaching Urquhart Castle, where you have the option to join a boat trip and explore the castle.
For those not participating in the excursion, the tour continues to the Clansman Hotel, where you have an hour at leisure. Here, you can relax and enjoy a gin tasting from Great Glen Gins, complete with a 10% shopping voucher. Alternatively, explore the area via the Old Coffin Road starting from the hotel car park, or opt for a one-hour tour of the loch for stunning views of Urquhart Castle.
Loch Ness, stretching 24 miles long and over 700 feet deep, is famously known for sightings of the Loch Ness Monster, affectionately called "Nessie." Spend some time enjoying a picturesque lake cruise on Loch Ness.
The tour returns through the Cairngorms National Park and Perthshire woodland, including the Forest of Atholl, with an evening refreshment stop in the Victorian resort town of Pitlochry, before heading back to Edinburgh, where the Loch Ness Tour concludes.
Day 11 - 12
The vibrant metropolis of Milan is the capital of Italy’s Lombardy region in northern Italy. Always at the forefront of international fashion, Milan’s sleek, glamorous facade has earned it a reputation for superficiality and excessive consumerism. However, beneath the surface lies a treasure trove of historical and architectural wonders—from its magnificent Gothic churches, Baroque mansions, and Art Nouveau palazzos to the striking modern skyscrapers of the Porta Nuova financial district. Must-see landmarks include the spectacular Milan Cathedral (Duomo), the glass-vaulted Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II, and of course, La Scala—one of the world’s most renowned opera houses. Milan offers something for everyone: those in search of high-end designer shopping will be more than satisfied, as will visitors interested in fascinating historical sites and extraordinary architectural achievements.

Discover the beauty of Lake Como with its spectacular views, the fascinating town of Bellagio and its authentic villas with this full day excursion from Milan! The day will begin with the pickup in the lobby of your hotel. The driver collecting you and within an hour, you will reach Lake Como and continue driving along the panoramic lake road SS 340 until your first tour stop: Villa Balbianello (entrance ticket and visit not included). The property was lastly owned by the Italian explorer and philanthropist Guido Monzino, who donated the building and gardens to the FAI (National Trust of Italy). The Villa now hosts an extremely beautiful, rich and complete museum of Monzino’s expeditions and also includes many art masterpieces of his collection. More recently the property was used as movie-set for James Bond: Casino Royale and Star Wars: II Episode films. You will then proceed with a car-ferry ride that arrives to the famous town of Bellagio. After that, you can enjoy some free lunch-time in town with a stunning panorama, shop at world-class stores and admire the centuries-old architecture. After lunch (not included) the tour will conclude and your private driver will take you back to your hotel in Milan.
Starting time: 9:00 am approx.
Day 13 - 15
Venice is a small, unique city in Italy’s Veneto region, a historic center made up of 118 small islands in a lagoon of the Adriatic Sea, connected by a complex network of canals and footbridges. The stately palaces and ancient churches remain as fascinating reminders of what was once a major trading hub between Europe and the Orient. From the famous Gothic Doge’s Palace and the breathtaking St. Mark’s Basilica to the awe-inspiring brilliance of Titian’s Assumption altarpiece lighting up an entire cathedral, Venice has remained virtually unchanged for the past 600 years. Other must-see attractions include the Bridge of Sighs, the spectacular Peggy Guggenheim Collection (art gallery), the captivating Gallerie dell’Accademia (museum), and of course, gondola rides along the canals.

The best way to appreciate the beauty and uniqueness of a city built on water is on board a gondola. Gliding through Venice's Grand Canal and minor canals, you'll be introduced to the splendid palaces, churches, bridges, gardens and warehouses lining the city's liquid streets. Embarking on a gondola (up to 5 people per gondola) for a fascinating 30 minutes ride on the Grand Canal (St. Maria della Salute’s area) and minor canals (Fenice area). Ideal for photographers!

Lisbon and the Algarve, then London and Edinburgh, then Milan and Venice — fifteen days that cover three countries in a sequence that builds from the Atlantic edge of Europe through Britain to the Italian north. Each section has its own character, and the transitions between them — the jump from southern Portugal's beach pace to London's density, and then from Edinburgh's medieval drama to Milan's contemporary sophistication — keep the trip from feeling repetitive at any point.
The Highland excursion including Glencoe and Loch Ness from Edinburgh is the scenic centerpiece of the British section. The A82 through Glencoe opens the valley in a way that photographs don't capture — the Three Sisters above, the river below, and the sky pressing down — and it tends to stay with people longer than the castle visits on either side of it.
Hotel: Portugal Boutique City Hotel
Three nights with the Sintra, Cabo da Roca, and Cascais day trip, the fado music experience, and the Alfama and Belém neighborhoods. The Palácio da Pena in Sintra is best reached early before the coaches from Lisbon arrive — the palace on its wooded promontory above the Atlantic mist is one of those arrival moments that earns the whole day.
Hotel: 3HB Faro
Two nights with the golden beaches, the old town and marina, and the Ria Formosa lagoon. The boat trip to the nearby barrier islands — warm, shallow water, wading birds, and the silence that the ocean-facing beaches never have — earns a proper afternoon.
Hotel: H10 London Waterloo Hotel
Three nights on the South Bank with Westminster, the Tower of London, the London Eye, and the Stonehenge and Bath day trip. The Stonehenge and Bath excursion is best placed on the second full day — Bath's Georgian streets and the Stonehenge plain each provide a genuine counterpoint to London's density.
Hotel: Hotel Indigo Edinburgh Princes Street
Two nights with Edinburgh Castle, the Royal Mile, and the Highland excursion including Glencoe and Loch Ness. The Hotel Indigo Edinburgh Princes Street sits close to the New Town and the Waverley Station, well-positioned for both the Old Town and the city viewpoints.
Hotel: Rosa Grand Milano
Two nights with the Duomo and historic center and the Lake Como full-day excursion. Arriving in Bellagio by ferry from Como, with the late afternoon light on the water and the day-trippers gone, is the version of Como worth arranging the schedule around.
Hotel: Ca' dei Proverbi Suites
Two nights in Dorsoduro with the gondola, St. Mark's Square, and the bridges and local neighborhoods. The Ca' dei Proverbi's apartment-style character in a residential area gives the Venice stay a different daily texture from a hotel near the main tourist circuit.
The best time to visit these countries depends on your preferences and what you plan to do. The shoulder seasons of spring (April-June) and fall (September-October) are generally recommended for pleasant weather and fewer crowds. Summer is ideal for beaches, but expect more visitors and higher prices.

Very friendly and knowledgeable advisor
Top travel company—we’d book again anytime. My travel consultant was very friendly: I shared what we had in mind, and she planned the trip for us. She was also able to make adjustments when something didn’t quite fit—everything went perfectly. Afterwards, customer service took care of us and was quick to help. The trip itself was a dream. It’s also worth mentioning that we had a local guide we could message with any questions. Excellent support, and the Tourlane app was perfect—everything we needed right at hand on our phone. Many thanks to everyone who supported us on this trip.
She listened carefully to all my wishes and ideas, gave me excellent advice, and made everything happen. All my questions were answered, and I feel very well taken care of. Thank you so much!
