Alnwick Castle, Coast and Borders

Alnwick Castle, Coast and Borders

Some dream of kings and queens, while others imagine epic sieges. But many of us conjure up worlds of wizards and dragons. Alnwick Castle is a playground for your imagination that mixes the make-believe with true history.

It’s been a fiercely fought battleground for the Scots and English. It’s posed as a plush home for powerful earls and dukes. And it’s starred as Hogwarts in the movies of Harry Potter.

Let your imagination soar on this trip through the historic towns, fascinating tales, and beautiful views of the borders of Scotland and England.

  • Kelso: A ruined abbey, a stunning, cobbled town square, and beautiful boutique shops.
  • The Borders: The gentle valleys and rolling hills are a delight to explore.
  • Alnwick Castle: This gorgeous castle was used as a set for both Harry Potter and Downton Abbey.
  • Northumberland Coastline: This captivating coastline is designated as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
  • River Tweed: A graceful, salmon-filled river that winds through the borders.

Very competent contact person. Great travel planning with super accommodation. The contact person on site (Terra Nova) was also very easy to reach. Great value for money. We will definitely book our next big trip through Tourlane again.

Really very good from start to finish. I was a little skeptical at first, but I immediately felt that I was in very good hands. The consultants take a lot of time, respond to individual wishes and implement the desired goal excellently. All documents are available and can be viewed at any time, so there is always transparency from the outset. If there are any challenges, there is always someone available and working on a solution. I couldn't have planned it any better or cheaper myself. In the event of small mishaps that can happen on the trip, the local circumstances are responsible and not the travel planners, who themselves then provide support.

The professionalism, friendliness and helpfulness of our consultant as well as the appealing form of presentation never fails to impress, especially because it is so easy to share all the planning steps with the whole family. Since I've known Tourlane, I honestly wouldn't set foot in a local travel agency again. It's not only a huge time saver, it's simply timely. Thank you!
