Alhambra timed entry before any other planning step: slots sell out weeks ahead, and the Nasrid Palaces in late afternoon light are a fundamentally different experience from the morning crowds. Five nights in Sorrento is what makes the southern Italy chapter work; the Capri trip, the Amalfi drive, and the cooking class each get their own day without anything being compressed. For the Blue Grotto, mid-morning rowboat arrival: afternoon swells regularly close access, and trying to combine it with the Amalfi drive on the same day means one of the two gets cut short.

Day 1 - 3
Welcome to Seville, the passionate heart of Andalusia, a city that effortlessly blends rich history with vibrant modern life! This enchanting capital is truly famous for its fiery flamenco dancing, where passion ignites on every stage, its delectable tapas culture that invites endless culinary exploration, and its magnificent Moorish architecture that speaks volumes of its diverse past.
You can expect to be transported back in time as you explore the grand Seville Cathedral, home to Christopher Columbus's tomb and its iconic Giralda tower, offering breathtaking views of the city. Wander through the ethereal beauty of the Royal Alcázar palace and its serene gardens, a UNESCO World Heritage site, marveling at the intricate tilework and tranquil courtyards. Then, soak in the grandeur of the expansive Plaza de España, a stunning architectural masterpiece.
Seville's warm, inviting charm and its deep, palpable history make it an inspiring and utterly unforgettable destination. Don't miss the chance to experience a traditional flamenco show in the Triana neighborhood or enjoy an evening stroll along the Guadalquivir River – it’s a city that truly lives and breathes its heritage.

Meet your local guide to enjoy the most inescapable element of Spanish cuisine: Tapas tour, popular all over the world. In all Spain's cities you will find bars, taverns & markets specialized in tapas. Spend few hours escorted by an expert guide who will point out little-known cultural and gastronomic landmarks, while listening to stories and legends of this tapas culture during the tour. The stops include "Visit, Tapas & drink " in 2 different taverns of Granada.
Day 4 - 6
The small historical city of Granada lies tucked in a crook of the snow-capped Sierra Nevada, with the River Darro flowing through its centre, in southern Spain’s Andalucia region. The world-renowned and extraordinarily well-preserved Moorish Alhambra, with its mysterious, reddish-gold, fortressed palaces and exotic gardens, presides over the city. On an adjacent hill, the Albaicin quarter consists of a warren of narrow, cobbled alleyways strewn with whitewashed houses, tiny hidden squares adorned with orange trees and fountains, traditional bars serving free tapas, and a growing number of gourmet restaurants. The third hill, Sacromonte, once a Gypsy enclave, is packed with fascinating cave dwellings hosting nightly flamenco dance performances. The city centre has a more elegant, contemporary feel with its upmarket boutiques, art nouveau flower stalls and large decorative fountains.

Alhambra is a palace and a fortress complex. One of the Wonders of the World and UNESCO world heritage listed. You will discover a unique Arab medieval citadel, probably the best preserved in the world, and also the highest tourist attraction in Spain. During this visit you will be accompanied by an official guide who will explain the history and legends of this emblematic place. You will visit the Alcazaba (citadel), Carlos V Palace, Generalife Gardens and Nazari Palaces. The Alcazaba was the military zone, The Generalife is the villa with gardens used by the Muslim kings of Granada as a place of retreat and rest and the Nazari palaces constituted the seat of the administrative functions, of the court, protocol and retirement and private enjoyment.
Day 7 - 9
Experience Rome, the bustling capital of Italy. This city, rich with exciting history and culture, offers an unparalled mix of ancient explorations and modern living. Immerse yourself in the past and explore the Colosseum, the Roman Forum, and the Vatican. Wander through other must-see destinations like The Spanish Steps, Trevi Fountain, and Pantheon. Experiencing the culinary scene is a delight, from traditional pasta to world-renowned Italian gelati. You can explore daily markets such as Campo de' Fiori for local ingredients and fresh food. A stay in Rome promises great experiences all year round, but it is advisable to take seasonality into account. While spring (April–May) and fall (September–October) offer pleasant weather and less crowds, summer (June–August) has a lively, spirited atmosphere — but can also be hot. No matter when you go, visiting Rome promises an unforgettable journey through the centuries. The unique combination of a rich historical past mixed into a thriving and vibrant modern community makes Italy's Eternal City one of the world's most intriguing and inspiring tourist destinations.

Create a customized tour of Rome’s must-see attractions. Settle into our comfortable double-decker pink buses and listen to the audio guide for a tour you will never forget. Spend as long as you like at each site with buses running every 15/20 minutes throughout the day.

Day 10 - 15
Set on a hillside overlooking the Bay of Naples and Vesuvius, Sorrento is a tiny Italian resort town perfectly situated for exploring the Amalfi Coast, Capri, Pompeii, and the Naples area. However, the town itself offers plenty of attractions. Visitors can swim, snorkel, or dive in the sparkling turquoise waters, browse the maze of shops and stalls filled with local crafts, or wander along the unspoiled streets of the old town, discovering its wealth of Renaissance palazzi and Romanesque churches. At the heart of the town, Piazza Tasso perches over a magnificent gorge and is filled with bustling cafes and restaurants serving mouth-watering traditional dishes. The locals of Sorrento have mastered the art of living ‘la dolce vita,’ making it the ultimate destination for indulgence.

Spend an amazing day discovering the island of Capri. During the boat trip you will sail around the Sorrentine Coast passing through Marciano, Mitigliano and Bagni regina Giovanna. Arriving in Capri, you will pass the lighthouse of Punta Carena, the imposing Faraglioni rocks, The Green and White Grottoes and the roman Villa of the Emperor Tiberio. Swim in the blue water of the Gulf or relax and sunbathe on board. Once landed in Capri you can spend your time as you wish: visiting Anacapri, stroll around the famous Piazzetta, do some shopping in Via camerelle or getting to visit the Blue Grotto.

Seville and Granada give you Andalusia's Moorish heritage at its most complete, and then Rome and Sorrento shift the trip into an entirely different register. Both southern Spain and southern Italy share a Mediterranean warmth and a deep history, but they ask different things of you — and that contrast across the two weeks is what makes the trip feel genuinely varied rather than repetitive.
My go-to recommendation for Capri: take the ferry directly from Sorrento rather than going via Naples. It's faster, you arrive at the Marina Grande with the morning ahead of you, and getting the Blue Grotto visit done first thing means beating the boats that pile in from the mainland by mid-morning.
Hotel: Hospes Las Casas del Rey de Baeza
The Hospes Las Casas del Rey de Baeza is a converted 18th-century palace in the Santa Cruz quarter, close to the Cathedral and the Alcázar. The tapas tour on the first evening sets up the city well before the monumental walking tour the following day. In summer, start the heavier sightseeing early — both the Cathedral and the Alcázar are best before noon.
Hotel: Hotel Villa Oniria Granada
The Alhambra entry slots are timed and strictly capacity-controlled — book them before you leave home. The complex rewards a full, unhurried day: the Nasrid Palaces, the Generalife gardens, and the Alcazaba each have their own character. The walk up through the Albaicín to the Mirador de San Nicolás at dusk, with the Alhambra visible across the valley, is worth every step of the climb.
Hotel: Hotel St. Martin
Three nights in Rome gives you the Colosseum and Roman Forum on one proper morning, the Vatican on another, and still an evening free for Trastevere — one of the few parts of the city that functions as a genuine neighborhood rather than an attraction. The hop-on hop-off tour on day one is a practical orientation tool before you commit to any particular area in depth.
Hotel: Hotel La Tonnarella
The Hotel La Tonnarella sits on the Sorrento cliffs with a lift down to its private platform on the water. Five nights here is genuinely generous — Capri on one day, the Amalfi Coast with Positano and Amalfi on another, the cooking class on a third, and still two days free to simply be in Sorrento. The evening light on the Bay of Naples from a table above the water is the kind of thing that justifies a longer stay.
The best time for this multi-country trip is during the shoulder seasons of spring and fall. These seasons offer a perfect balance of warm, dry weather, ideal for exploring cities like Seville and Rome, while avoiding the intense heat and heavy crowds of the peak summer months.
The cost for this multi-country trip can be tailored to various budgets. On a mid-range budget, a week in Spain starts at about $1,400 per person, while a week in Italy starts at around $1,700 per person, excluding flights. For a two-week journey, a budget of around $200-$240 per day is a good estimate.
This trip is a rich blend of history, culture, and coastal beauty. Highlights include the royal fortress of the Alhambra in Granada, the ancient Colosseum in Rome, and the picturesque Amalfi Coast. For activities, you can attend a flamenco show in Seville, take a tapas tour in Madrid, or take a cooking class in Naples.
