The Lake Como full-day is the experience I'd highlight most. Arriving in Bellagio by boat from the Como waterfront in the early afternoon, staying until the day-trippers have gone, and walking the staircase lanes above the lake in the late afternoon is the version of Como that earns the reputation. What I always tell people: take the ferry from Como rather than driving — the approach to Bellagio from the water, with the two branches of the lake spreading out behind you, is the right introduction.
Day 1–2: Venice

Day 3–5: Milan

The Verona day is best placed first — the Roman Arena and the Piazza Bra in the late afternoon are the city at its most rewarding, and staying for an early dinner before the train back gives the day a clean close.
