The best time to travel to Sicily is between spring and fall, i.e. generally between April and October. This is when it gets warm on the island in summer and it remains largely dry, perfect for a summer vacation, but also for hiking and city trips.
Within this period, the summer months, especially July and August, are the main travel season. This is when it gets quite crowded due to the summer vacations. The beaches in particular are now visited by many families and space can become scarce. The high season also has an impact on prices. It can be scorching hot in the cities during this time, making a cultural trip a sweat-inducing challenge.
